This multifaceted maestro of Indian films joined the New Theatres
Studio in 1946 specialising in sound engineering. In 1950, he left
for England and was associated with Pinewood Studio for two years.
This 19-time National Awards nominee has won laurels in International
Film Festivals of Berlin, Venice, Moscow, San Fransisco, Locarno,
Cork Festival in Ireland and Asian Festivals in Combodia and Seoul.
The three films Sinha made, based on Tagore stories: Kabuliwala,
Kshudita Pasan (The Hungry Stones) and Atithi (Guest),
imaginatively re-create Tagore's masterpieces.
