Fact 2001
Quizzing as a way of reaching out to children in need? That’s
exactly what FACT 2001 set out to do recently in Calcutta.
CRY (Child Relief and You) brought FACT 2001 (Free A Child Today)
to the city. This corporate quiz with a cause brought together
conscientious competitors who wish to extend a helping hand to underprivileged
children.
30 teams from corporate houses participated in Fact 2001, including
Wipro, HSBC, Compaq, ICRA, Usha Communications, TISCO, Selvel Advertising,
CMC, Rediffusion and IMRB. Experienced Barry O'Brien was the anchor;
prizes were sponsored by Orly Collections, Chandrani Pearls, La
Opala - Solitaire,The Park Hotel, Music World, Heritage Resources,
Dabur India and others.
The Chief Guest, quizzing pioneer Neil O'Brien, spoke about the
growth of CRY in the last decade, and its wonderful contribution
towards literacy programs. The proceeds from the quiz will go towards
enriching children’s lives.
